Bharat is venerated as a sacred land due to its people’s steadfast commitment to dharma, which has enabled divine incarnations to grace the land and has been nurtured by the wisdom of great sages and gurus. To continue this tradition, it is crucial for the Dvijas (twice-born) to practice Sandhyavandanam, perform Nitya Karmas, engage in Vedadhyayanam (Vedic studies), and pursue Adhyatmika Chintana (spiritual contemplation). It is our duty to preserve this invaluable heritage, embody its principles, inspire others to practice it, and ensure its vibrant transmission to future generations.
To restore Vedic Dharma in the Kali Yuga, Sri Adi Shankaracharya, an incarnation of Parama Shiva, founded the four Amnaya Peethams and the Moolamnaya Sarvagnya Peetham, the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, as prominent centers of spiritual wisdom. Inspired by the revered Paramacharya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swami-renowned as the upholder of Kanchi Peetham’s sacred traditions- and with the blessings of the Sringeri and Kanchi Jagadgurus as well as elders, the Sri Shankara Vedabhyasa Samithi was inaugurated in May 2018, during the Vilambi year in the Vaishakha month.
This initiative was launched with the mission to inspire every Dvija who has undergone the sacred Upanayana Sanskaram, especially those engaged in worldly life, to commit to meaningful Vedic studies. Starting with just five students (Shiksharthis), the program has now grown to include over 150+ students from various parts of the world, learning through an online platform.
Taking a significant step forward in Vedic education, weekend classes were inaugurated at the Kanchi Kamakoti Cultuaral Centre in Delhi on July 29, 2023 (Ekadashi in the Shobhakrita Year, Shravana month), with the blessings of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swami
The objective is to inspire all Dvijas to consistently perform their Nitya and Naimittika Karmas while dedicating themselves to Vedadhyayanam (Vedic studies) and Nitya Swadhyaya (daily self-study) within their homes. This initiative aims to foster positive transformation in society. With the blessings of the Ubhaya Jagadgurus from Sringeri and Kanchi, the mission seeks to encourage wider participation, inviting more individuals to join this sacred and noble endeavour.
